Survey Demonstration
In 2007 students completed the survey using Nokia Internet Tablets (small hand-held computers). The software was designed using a branching questionnaire to ensure that students were not exposed to questions that were outside their experiences. The questions were displayed on the small Nokia screens and were read out over headphones. Responses were also read out when the corresponding text was selected. All answers were recorded by students using a small stylus to tap the appropriate response on the touch-sensitive screen. Questionnaire responses were automatically transmitted by a wi-fi webserver to the laptop database. Files from the laptop servers were later uploaded to a central database and then imported into statistical software and collated for analysis. For more information please refer to the Youth'07 Technical Report. You can try out the software interface yourself in English or Maori.
