The Youth2000 data sets accumulated over the several surveys since 2000 are vast and comprehensive. They include students in mainstream secondary schools (the national surveys), students in alternative education schools and students in teen parent units. The Adolescent Health Research Group (AHRG) operates from a positive youth development approach so the Youth2000 questionnaires include important wellbeing outcomes as well as the risk and protective factors that increase or decrease the likelihood of positive outcomes for young people. The main areas included in the questionnaire are: Ethnicity Home School Physical and Emotional Health Nutrition Exercise and Activities Sexual Health Substance Use Gambling Injuries and Violence Neighbourhood Spirituality The data can be described - including the relationships between variables and changes over time. Please see the Adolescent Health Research Group Data Policy and the guidelines for working with ethnicity data if you are interested in making an application to work with this data. We are currently seeking researchers and students interested in working on a number of research projects using the Youth2000 data sets.
